Im Angesicht des Verbrechens (In view of the Offence))

"Im Angesicht des Verbrechens" depicts the Jewish−Russian Milieu, shows the
mentality and emotional worlds of other ethnic groups, their religious roots,
their family lives, their traditions and festivities. "Im Angesicht des Verbrechens"
reveals a panorama of diverse societies, journeys into different worlds, from the small village
environment of the Ukraine to the urban big city life of Berlin.
"Im Angesicht des Verbrechens" is about criminal energy and the allure and
seduction of the milieu. It is also about people who want to change things, people
with ideals who believe in the community and fight at each other´s side.

Marek Gorsky, son of a Jewish – Russian immigrant is a policeman in Section 6
of the Berliner Police.
As Gorsky and his friend and colleague Sven Lottner are requested by the LKA
(US= D.A. UK=CID) to find one of the heads (Sokolow) of a band of illegal cigarette
dealers he is confronted with a childhood trauma.
His older brother, Grischa, was shot by a criminal rival. The perpetrator was never caught.
For Gorsky, the hunt for Sokolow becomes the hunt for the murderer of his brother, Grischa.
Pawns in an invisible power struggle, betrayed by a corrupt fellow officer,
Gorsky and Lottner follow Sokolow´s trail.
A trail that leads them ever closer to Mischa, owner of the Odessa Restaurant and
husband of Gorsky´s sister, Stella.
Gorsky has to decide between the values of his family and his new life as a policeman.
